The UP department of physics and astronomy has announced the opening of a tenure-track junior professorship (W1) in theoretical astrophysics.
The department is closely connected with other research institutes in the area, such as the Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics Potsdam (IAP), the Deutsches Elektronen Synchrotron (DESY), and the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (Albert Einstein Institute, AEI). With the establishment of this junior professorship, the UP specifically intends to strengthen its ties with the AEI, which is located within walking distance from the UP. In particular, the announcement says: "The UP department of physics and astronomy is particularly interested in strengthening its cooperation with the AEI, for which (among others) the topics of gravitational-wave astronomy, compact objects, supernovas and cosmology are particularly suited."
The application deadline is 8/31, more information can be found here: https://www.uni-potsdam.de/fileadmin01/projects/verwaltung/docs/Dezernat3/Ausschreibungen/1_Professuren/W1_Theoretical_Astrophysics_TT.pdf
