The joint Centre for Gravitational Waves at KU Leuven and at ULB invites applications for one Ph.D. position in the area of gravitational wave physics.
This year the Centre has one Ph.D. position open in the context of its contribution to LISA, the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna that will measure gravitational waves in space. Target areas of research concern in particular the theory and modelling of gravitational wave patterns of inspirals of stellar and intermediate black holes into intermediate and supermassive black holes to the level of accuracy that is needed to be able to translate strain variations detected by LISA to physical properties of these gravitational wave sources.
Candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. The deadline for full consideration is June 1st, 2019.
In order to apply, interested candidates should email as a single pdf file a motivation letter and their curriculum vitae to Ms Anneleen Marcelis (anneleen.marcelis(at)kuleuven.be), and ask for two referees to send a letter of recommendation on your behalf, also to Ms Anneleen Marcelis.
Further information about these positions can be obtained from Prof. T. Hertog (thomas.hertog(at)fys.kuleuven.be) or Prof. G. Compère (gcompere(at)ulb.ac.be).
