Against racism and discrimination

We have been deeply touched by the brutal and senseless killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, the recent appalling episode of violence against Black Americans, which brought into relief systemic issues of racism and discrimination that pervade our communities worldwide in a variety of hidden and blatant forms. The LISA Consortium stands in strong solidarity with everyone affected by discrimination.

The LISA Consortium strives to maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment for all scientists. We strengthen our resolve to ensure that all Consortium members, present and future, can benefit from the community we build without prejudice or inequality. The Consortium is committed to a longterm fighting against discrimination in all its forms, promoting open discussions on racial discrimination in academia, and identifying actions to make our Consortium a positive agent of change within our scientific communities.

We are condemning all forms of racism and discrimination, and in challenging the assumptions and practices that impair the well being and professional development of our students and collaborators because of their personal identity.

Let us all speak as one in condemning all forms of racism and discrimination, and in challenging the assumptions and practices that impair the well being and professional development of our students and collaborators because of their personal identity.

Please be safe, be kind to yourselves and to all those around you, and let us work together in hopeful determination toward better days.
